LIVING NATURE

The soil, the insects, the flowers, and the plants: a vibrant symphony that needs nothing more.

Nature is never in a hurry,
yet everything gets done.

Lao Tzu

If you see a perfect field,
it’s not organic.
In this imperfection,
our good fortune is born and grows.

Between sky and earth

Balanced between Altamura and Matera, in the land of the Murge, lie the farms where many of the organic products made for AMÍO originate, from lentils to chickpeas, as well as barley and spelt. Amber-colored fields stretch out like the squares of a timeworn chessboard: here, walking is a pleasure, and uncovering nature’s secrets feels almost effortless.

This land offers some of our organic products.

What Italy is

A community born on Instagram that takes its audience on a journey through the wonders of Italy, where history, culture, and people are told through images, colors, and words.

The fields are bursting with life—lentils surrounded by countless other forms of living nature: a true celebration of color and movement.
We’re here during harvest time, yet only a few machines are at work.
We ask why.“We’ve already started harvesting in one field, but not in the others. Day by day, we observe the lentils and, when everything is ready, we harvest.”

A long wait

Organic farming, for better or worse, means just that. Observing, sowing, and waiting.
Waiting for everything to go well, for nature to be kind year after year, and to keep yielding incredible harvests. This is the role of humankind. It cannot dictate the timing its work must integrate with that of nature, from sowing to harvest.

From amber tones in the fields, as we get closer to the cities, the dominant color turns to white, bursting into full splendor in Altamura and Matera.
Close to each other, yet distinct despite their similarities, both are true gems in the Italian landscape. Their beauty leaves no one untouched.
